Matt approached BCV several years ago to assist him with his ongoing accounting and tax obligations. Tired of the lack of interest and pro-active advice from his previous accountant, Matt sought an accountant that would take an active interest in his affairs and work with him to minimise his tax liabilities.
At the time Matt operated an Equipment Hire business. BCV reviewed Matt’s business to ensure that he was operating under a structure that would enable him to legally minimise his tax liabilities and to ensure he was well placed to expand his business and personal investments in the future.
Recently, Matt and his wife approached BCV with a plan to set up and operate a Thai restaurant in a neighbouring suburb. While they had the kitchen skills, they lacked a business plan, adequate operating capital, and the knowledge required to establish the business from a financial and accounting perspective.
BCV worked closely with Matt during this time. We helped Matt document a detailed business and financial plan which was used to source operating capital. The financial budget we prepared gave Matt the confidence that the business was financially viable. BCV assisted Matt in financing much of the equipment required to set up the restaurant, working closely with the finance company to provide the necessary information. We also worked closely with a Finance Broker to source adequate operating capital and at the same time reviewed Matt’s personal and investment mortgages to ensure they were competitive, saving him hundreds of dollars a month in mortgage repayments.
Today, Matt continues to operate his Equipment Hire business, and at the same time operates a very successful and well patronised restaurant, a business that BCV was instrumental in helping to establish. We continue to work closely with Matt to ensure his tax liabilities are minimized, all obligations are met in a timely manner, and that his operating structure is suitable to his ever-changing financial situation.
